Medical Tourism Awareness of Health Workers

The aim of this study is to determine the medical tourism awareness of health workers in public hospitals
in South Eastern Anatolian Region. The study was carried out between January-March 2020 and 392 health
workers participated in the study. The reliability value of scale, used in the study, was counted as very
high (0.921). The medical tourism awareness of health workers in the study was found as low in general
(2.89). In the sub-dimensions of scale, the awareness of health workers was found as low. When the subdimensions
of medical tourism awareness scale used in the study analysed, it was found out that health
workers are generally unsure at sub-dimensions of institutional competence (2.83), the effects of medical
tourism (2.73), the problems of medical tourism (3.11), medical tourism potential of city (2.83) and medical
tourism practices of public hospitals (2.84). According to the results of correlation analysis between subdimensions,
a positive relationship between all sub-dimensions was determined.
