Background: Pharmacology is a core subject in the second year of an MBBS course. It's the scientific study of how chemicals and pharmaceuticals affect living beings. Pharmacology is concerned with the safety and effectiveness of drugs, including how they are used to treat, prevent, or diagnose diseases. Regular evaluation of teaching learning method is crucial for further improvement in educating techniques.
Aim: (1)To determine the medical students perception regarding the subject pharmacology in a medical college(2)To determine the feedback of teaching learning methodologies and asssessment in pharmacology.
Materials and Methods: This study was conducted in tertiary health care centre of Northern India.103 medical students studying in the second professional MBBS were included in the study and the standard questionnaire was given after peer review on google form and responses were collected, compiled and analysed.
Results: Totally 103 students participated in the study. So, we have analyzed the responses of 103 participants and rejected 47 forms filled incompletely by the students. According to students Pharmacology is interesting and useful subject and best mode of teaching learning method is with the use of Powerpoint presentation. More students now prefer clinical oriented and short answer question for their assessment.
Conclusion: This study found that students generally had a positive perception of the teaching and learning methods in pharmacology. They recommended incorporating more clinical and practical based learning, utilizing PPT,didactic lectures and conducting small group discussions to enhance the teaching-learning experience.
